Radio cake
The radio stake originated in the '50s, when the radio was listened to a lot. Many called it the “Saturday stake” but as the look is very reminiscent of the then radio it became simply a “radio stake”. That's what it says in the old Swedish cookbook where I found the recipe :)
Preparation steps
- Melt the coconut butter in one bowl on the stove over low heat
- Add the broken chocolate and let it all melt, stir to combine and leave to cool a bit.
- Whisk the eggs frothily with the sugar, then add the melted butter lightly and mix well. Make sure the butter is not hot as it will split the mixture and will not be creamy
- Cover one long and deeper cake tin with plastic wrap
- Start stacking cakes:
- Pour a lukewarm mixture of butter and chocolate on the bottom of the bowl, place the biscuits, another layer of chocolate and so on
- The last layer should be chocolate
- Leave to cool and set in the fridge
- Cut chilled into slices
