Mulberry / mulberry jam
I’ve been looking for recipes like this and, I have to admit, I’ve “struggled”. And I decided to try the “old gold” they call “waste” today because of the clutter left by those fine fruits. As children, we always played in the shade under a huge mulberry tree and ate sweet fruits along the way. Of course, the neighbors were better :) Even today, the neighbors are the best ...
Preparation steps
- Clean the mulberries from the stalks, put them in a blender and mix briefly. Transfer to a saucepan and cook for about 10 minutes. Strain half of the liquid and return the juice to the other half on the fire. I made this to keep those small bones as small as possible under my teeth when consumed. Then add sugar, vanilla sugar and lemon, to dissolve and begin to thicken. Add Džemfix (according to the instructions on the bag), boil for a few more minutes, remove the foam if necessary. Pour into hot sterilized jars, cover, turn upside down for 5 min, return to starting position and place in a dark and cool place (not in the fridge!)
Serving
It goes well with any bread you like, on pancakes, biscuits, even just for a teaspoon.
