Meatballs with brown sauce
In Sweden, ready-made meatballs (frozen or fresh) are often used and served with brown sauce (brun sås). Since I don’t like ready-to-buy foods, I searched and found a recipe for making them. It looks like our meatballs, but it's not very similar. They can be used as an addition to manestra, eaten roasted with vegetables or… .. but they can be used in a small million ways. This is one of those million ways…
Preparation steps
- Dumplings:
- Mix the crumbs with milk or water. Leave to soak for 10 minutes.
- Add egg, salt, pepper, and onion.
- Stir.
- Add the meat and mix until smooth.
- Dip your hands in cold water and make balls the size of a ping pong ball.
- Bake the dumplings in a pan or pan in oil.
- Rotate them occasionally
- Brown sugo:
- Put the soup in a little padel cheese (sickle?)
- Mix milk with flour. (It's best not to make lumps with the mixer)
- Pour the milk and flour into the soup.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes and mix with a whisk (not all the time :-D)
- When the sugo is done, add the finished meatballs and serve with cooked rice or pasta.
- Add soy (and cream if you like)
- Pour into the soup you put in the pot
