Buns and Buns
Soft, warm perfect for sandwiches, burgers, various spreads, etc.
- The first step is to knead the leavened dough according to this recipe: The perfect leavened dough for Pastries and Pizzas and put it to rise.
- Transfer the risen dough to a floured work surface and roll it out to a finger and a half thick. Using a donut or cup cutter with a diameter of 10 cm, cut the circles and place them on a clean cloth or tablecloth. Knead the rest of the dough, roll it out again and repeat the process until all the dough is used up. Cover with another clean cloth and let rise for another 20 minutes.
- Arrange the obtained buns on a baking sheet, shallowly cut in the shape of a cross with a sharp notched knife in the middle. Sprinkle well with water to sap off any remaining flour with (see recipe for perfectly risen dough) Coat with oil to coat. Sprinkle with salt, sesame, poppy, cumin or sunflower seeds as desired.
- Bake in a well-heated oven at 220 "C for about 12 - 15 minutes until they get a golden color. After removing from the oven, spray once more with light water and take it out on the cooling rack.
