Buns
An old recipe for buns that we can use even when we run out of bread, and they can be made quickly!
Preparation steps
- Put the flour in a bowl in which we will knead, add salt and baking powder, then add mineral water and knead the dough with your hands, which must be quite soft, with the addition of flour, knead the dough into a soft ball. Immediately divide the dough into four equal parts (tear with your hands) and make balls. Leave for 10 minutes covered with a clean kitchen cloth and then heat the oil in a pan, it must be really heated, so that the buns grow nicely. Baking does not require a lot of oil to float but to be nicely fried so as not to burn. I'm trying to clarify the recipe, because it has been written in my head for years without any measures, because I didn't have the need to ever write it down. So before baking, we take the ball and stretch it in a circle with our hands to the desired thickness, they must be neither too thin nor too thick.
- Bake them until they get a nice color, then turn to bake the other side as well. Place on a plate and coat with a little sour cream on top to soften. For all those who have larger families let them increase the ingredients as needed. If you make these buns as a substitute for bread, you don't have to coat them on top, put them on top of each other and cover them with foil so that they don't harden!
Serving
It can be served as a stand-alone dish, I often cut it into thin slices of red onion and make it quite tender (a little onion softens, about five minutes), so I love eating these buns. But also often as a substitute for bread with cooked dishes, and with a barbecue, these buns are a real surprise!
