Taai-taai Dutch gingerbread cookies
Taai-taai is a traditional Dutch version of gingerbread. Children love to make them in various shapes, and decorate them differently. Very, delicious, fragrant, and the house smells of something festive, special.
Preparation steps
- In a bowl add honey, anisprah, eggs and stir for 5 minutes. In another bowl, mix the flour, gingerbread mixture and baking powder. Combine the honey and flour mix and knead by hand to get a smooth dough. Put the dough in nylon foil and leave for 1 hour to rest.
- Spread the dough to a thickness of 1 cm and make cookies with different molds. Arrange the cookies in a tray lined with greaseproof paper. Grease them with egg yolk and put in a preheated oven at 200'C, bake for 12 minutes. When they are done transfer them to a wire to cool.
Serving
Put the cooled cookies in a tin box. Cookies prepared this way can stand for a long time, if they are not eaten by the family in the meantime, as with me. Enjoy !!!!!!
