Marble / colorful fondant
If you want your cake to be covered with marble fondant, this is one of the possible ways to get the same.
Preparation steps
- For this David cake, I used colors that are otherwise associated with Ben Ten, and you use 3-5 shades of the same color when you make marble.
- Take as much fondant as you normally need to coat one cake and divide it into a couple of equal parts. In this case it was five. Paint each part in the appropriate color and roll it into one big "worm". Assemble them and roll. While rolling, stretch the fondant so that the "worm" is not thick. PROCEDURE 1
- You bend one end in a circle and so on until the other end. If the fondant is drier, you can coat the inside with water to make it stick better, but very little. PROCEDURE 2
- Put powdered sugar or thickener on the work surface. Roll out the fondant in a circle. PROCEDURE 3
- Transfer the fondant over the cake, flatten it with an "iron", cut off the excess fondant and finally "iron" it a little more :) PROCEDURE 4
- Reassemble the excess colorful fondant and make balls around the cake.
