Preparation steps

  • Put the yeast in lukewarm milk, with sugar and flour to rise in a warm place. When it has risen, pour into a bowl containing flour, egg, lard, leftover milk, vanilla sugar, lemon zest, salt and sugar.
  • Knead the dough to make it smooth. Leave to rise for about 1 hour. After that, roll it out, cut it into squares and put the filling in the middle as desired (jam, walnuts, poppy seeds, cherries, ...), bend it and place it in a greased and floured tin.
  • Let them rise a little more and coat them with beaten egg yolk. Bake in a preheated oven at 170C for about 45 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the roast with powdered sugar.
