This is an old-fashioned cake, prepared by our mothers and grandmothers, it would be said a cake with a long tradition. There is nothing better than the fine smell of freshly baked buns with jam or poppy seeds on Sunday afternoons¸ good taste!
- Mix 1 bag of dry yeast into the flour, add sugar, a little salt, one egg, margarine or butter grated on a plate, finally warm milk and knead the dough. Make it of medium hardness, add a little warm water as needed during mixing, and it can also be used to soak your hands, as it will make it easier to knead the leavened dough.
- Cover the dough and let it swell in a warm place. You make the stuffing in the meantime. Grind the walnuts and mix them with the sugar and cinnamon. Grind the poppy seeds, add one egg, milk, sugar, cinnamon, a little butter, and cook everything on the stove.
- When the dough has risen, roll it out, cut it into squares and fill it with the filling, and roll it into a ball. Grease the pan, stack the buns next to each other, but spread each with melted butter so that they do not stick together. Bake them at 180 degrees for about 30-40 minutes, depending on the oven.
