Bosnian puff pastry

This is the basic recipe for bread that is often found on my table.

Preparation steps

  • make germ yeast, a little lukewarm milk and a teaspoon of sugar
  • beat eggs, salt, add flour, 1/2 baking powder and yeast and mix it all with lukewarm sweet milk (it should be neither cold nor too hot)
  • when the dough is nicely made, add the seeds as desired (sesame, turkey, flax, sunflower ...) and let it stand until the mass doubles
  • Divide the dough into 6 balls, then roll out each ball to the size of a baking tray. Coat the casserole with melted butter and also coat each stretched ball.
  • Leave one ball for the middle of the cake. Cut into 8 parts to get triangles and transfer each triangle from the middle to the end of the pan, and put the remaining ball in the middle
  • Coat the cake with beaten egg yolk, sprinkle with seeds as desired and leave to soak again.
  • preheat the oven to 250 and bake for 10min, then reduce to 180 and bake for another 20min
