Bishop's bread

The scents of orange, walnut and chocolate are associated with the time of Advent, but with fragrant bishop's bread you will also raise your daily coffee "to a higher level". If you share the pleasure with colleagues, the rest of the working day will pass in a nice tone.

Preparation steps

  • Mix the sugar and egg yolks until the mixture is frothy. Then add the grated orange peel, sliced ​​walnuts or almonds, raisins and diced chocolate.
  • Mix well, then alternately add the smooth flour and solid egg whites. Mix everything carefully and pour into a greased and floured mold (size 30 × 10 cm).
  • Bake for about 40 minutes at 190 ° C.


Shake the baked cake out of the mold and sprinkle it with vanilla powdered sugar.


For a change, you can replace raisins with candied fruit.
