Celebrated in the Nordic countries, meatballs vary from region to region. In Finland, where this recipe comes from, they are called Lihapullat, and in Sweden Köttbulla. The Finns also suggest that you serve meatballs with boiled or mashed potatoes.
- Mix the bread crumbs with the water and cream, then let stand for about 10 minutes.
- Fry the chopped onion in oil, cool a bit, then add the meat together with the allspice, white pepper, Vegeta, egg and bread crumbs and mix well.
- From the mixture, form balls and fry in heated oil on each side for about 5 minutes.
Serve the roasted meatballs with boiled potatoes and grated carrot salad.
